  1. It hurts so much when your respected journalist is committing the same acts as those in the political, business and entertaining circles. None of them would be “man” enough to admit their wrongs and take responsibility.

  3. I agree with this analysis. And I’d push it even further. If we honestly and fully looked at the problems in our society, there would be no segment of society that would escape direct guilt or indirect complicity.

    We live in a messed up society, no doubt about it. Even most activists don’t seem to want to admit to this dark truth, instead focusing on their own narrow area of identity politics or single issue politics. But this causes us to miss the pervasive, systemic, and enmeshed nature of the problems involved. We have yet to come to terms with an intersectional understanding.

    What grabs the attention of media personalities and professional politicians may have little to do with what is most deserving of attention. Who knows what we might find if we began digging into the overlooked nooks and crannies of American society. It might not fit into simple political frames and media narratives.
